Is Openhour legitimate?
Openhour connects US residents with remote research and testing tasks and never charges participants. Check the company details page, read the five things we refuse to say, and ask us anything on WhatsApp before you do anything.
How much will I make?
We do not say, on purpose. US regulators treat 'up to' and typical-earnings language as promises, and we have no data we could honestly stand behind. What we can do is write each task's pay method and length down before you accept it.
Why WhatsApp?
It is the fastest way to talk to a human without creating an account. You write first; we never message anyone who has not messaged us. Email works too.
Do I need experience?
No. A phone or laptop, a US address, age 18 or over, and the patience to read questions carefully.
When and how am I paid?
After a task is reviewed and approved, by bank transfer or PayPal. Never gift cards, never crypto, never anything you have to buy first.
Is this a job?
No. You are an independent contractor and take tasks one at a time. No salary, no minimum hours, no schedule, and you can stop at any time.
What about taxes?
You report your own income. Platforms and payers issue a Form 1099-NEC when your payments cross the IRS reporting threshold for the year; the income is taxable either way. This is general information, not tax advice.
What data do you keep?
Only what is needed to match you with tasks and pay you. The privacy policy lists it, including your California privacy choices.
